We have taken an old idea and made it better

Circulation and Transfer pumps revolutionized the American Aluminum Industry nearly 40 years ago. Today, the Coriolis System will revolutionize the circulation pump. How? With our patented, dual volute design.

Two discharge points are better than one

In a conventional chip melting system, all of the pumped metal is raised above the molten metal bath level to be introduced into the charging vessel. This action tends to both cool the metal and expose it to the atmosphere which tends to produce more oxide. Metal scrap and/or chips are then added to this metal, cooling it further and then all of this pumped metal is added back into the molten metal bath.
In the Coriolis System, only one-half of the pumped metal is pumped into the charging vessel. The other half of the pump output is directed through the lower passageway in the Coriolis Block and continues to circulate through the furnace thus maintaining a more even temperature. This reduces the oxide production due to exposure to the atmosphere to one-half of the conventional system and results in cleaner metal. The cooling effect of the addition of scrap and/or chips is also reduced because this newer metal is reintroduced into a hotter metal stream maintained by the circulation flow below the charging vessel.
An additional effect of the circulation flow below the charging vessel is that this flow tends to draw the molten metal from the charging vessel downward adding to the vortex effect. This helps to submerge the scraps and chips quicker and helps to avoid freezing of the metal in the charging vessel from over-feeding. Through-put of chips and scrap as well as melt rate are increased.
What is more, you can introduce solid flux into a unique injection point in the Coriolis
block. A dual intake keeps the pump well cleaner and in conjunction with the dual discharge feature, the performance is greatly enhanced while substantially reducing overall costs.

Why go with the flow when you can flow so much faster?

The increased velocity of the Coriolis System can increase melt cycle rates more than 25%. Production is only limited by the capabilities of your furnace. Never before has a pump/chip or pump/scrap melting system pushed a furnace to capacity. At the same time, you will reduce stack temperatures and related energy cost.
Other benefits to the system include less burn-off, less surface oxidation and reduced jamming. It’s constructed to withstand particulates suspended in the melt for extended life, yet the design is simple enough to reduce inventory parts requirements.

Take the Coriolis System for a Spin

If you’re an aluminum recycler, a small scale aluminum die caster, scrap melter or a high volume furnace operator who is interested in improving the efficiencies of your current system, we would be pleased to provide you with a demonstration.
